INTRODUCTION

The Valdelosfrailes Winery is located in the municipality of Cubillas de Santa Marta, in the province of Valladolid, and belongs to the emerging D.O. Cigales of red wines. Its excellent facilities are surrounded by carefully-tended vineyards that mainly produce the area’s main grape variety, Tempranillo or Tinto Fino. The extraordinary 1999 harvest provided the raw material for the first wines launched onto the market.

The origin of Valdelosfrailes as a winery stems from the winemaking tradition of Carlos Moro´s family, which has long been cultivating vineyards and producing wine in the areas of Santa Marta and Cubillas Valoria la Buena, producing some excellent “claretes.” In 1998, Carlos decided to go for renovation and the production of new red wines in the area.

Fresh rosés and elegant, silky reds are the hallmarks of one of the most prestigious wineries in the D.O. Cigales.
